Inflation: Political Profiteers Selfish Solution
Government Profiteers get the goldmine, we-the-people get the shaft.
MONEYCULTURE
The lame-duck Congress just passed its latest spending spree of $1.7 Trillion. Money was doled out to keep D.C. growing and to reward all their cronies, inside and outside of the government. Political Profiteers are people whose prosperity is dependent upon federal money. They also use their influence (political donations, money laundering, hiring politicians’ relatives, etc.) to keep it coming to them. Washington D.C. is filled with them. People fight to get to D.C. to enrich themselves in some sort of government money scheme. Don’t believe me? Look at all the long-term Congressmen who go to there and become multimillionaires. Also, some of the wealthiest counties are those surrounding D.C. The more money, the more power and visa versa. These Political Profiteers need federal money to flow like a raging river without slowing. Federal spending must increase exponentially to keep the profiteers fat and happy.
The profiteers have overreached for the last few years and caused a fiscal calamity. Something must be done. Their current plan is inflation, then followed by recession. Through both inflation and recession, the Political Profiteers will continue still get the goodies, while we-the-people get pain and suffering.
Everything costs more now that Congress started throwing trillions of dollars around during the pandemic. It was a great excuse to make a large step change in the federal budget. Unsustainable massive debt is created, financed by the Federal Reserve buying the debt to ease the pain, but creating dollars out of thin air. It only appeared to work until inflation took off and ended their game. This current inflationary period is blamed on many things that increase prices, but the real problem is that the dollar is being devalued. Too much money was created by the overspending Congress with support from their collaborators at the Federal Reserve; the result is high inflation. High inflation lowers everyone’s standard of living. Your bills get inflated, but your income doesn't.
The money supply should grow proportionally as the economy grows. The balance creates prosperity. When the money supply lags, growth is suppressed. When too many dollars are created, the value of money drops so it takes more money to buy everything. Severe economic consequences loom. To the average person, your standard of living drops because your income usually cannot keep pace with inflation. Too many people look only to the Federal Reserve to stop inflation, but the real culprits are in Congress where they are spending us into disaster to keep the Political Profiteers happy.
Washington D.C. and their Political Profiteers offer us two false choices to stave off economic disaster, inflation or recession. Both options keep the flood of federal dollars flowing for them but leaves the average person either unable to pay their bills or unemployed. The average person gets all the pain while the greedy profiteers stay happy with their unstoppable flow of federal money. The real answer is massive cuts in federal spending, getting Political Profiteers kicked out of the system, and shrinking the size of the Federal Government. Don’t be fooled. There is enough waste, fraud, and abuse to eliminate and balance the budget. If not, prepare yourself for very hard times for a long time. Reject the false options of the Political Profiteers.
We really a national debate for this one.
